Chartist Tour | In Commemoration of the Anniversary of The Newport Chartist Rising - 4 November 1839 | A guided coach tour around Chartism sites across South East Wales | Organised by HERIAN
10am Depart St Woolos Cathedral, Newport
Tour of Chartism sites in South Wales, including:
- Malpas Court | The home of Thomas Prothero
- Pontypool Park | The Hanbury Estate
- Various sites in Blaina and Nantyglo
- The Shire Hall in Monmouth | Where the chartists were found guilty of Treason in 1840
- The river front in Chepstow | From where John Frost, Zephaniah Williams and William Jones left on their journey to Australia
4pm Arrive back at St Woolos Cathedral, Newport, to attend:
A Ceremony to the Unknown Chartists | St Woolos Cathedral Grounds, 4.30pm
Memorial Stone to the Unknown Chartists, St Woolos Cathedral, Newport
